The Commitment and Maintenance Information Engineering team within blithequark's Information and Investigation group is dedicated to developing cutting-edge data solutions. As a Lead Data Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing and building data products and warehouses that drive insights into customer engagement and retention.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design and development of innovative data products and data warehouses focused on commitment and maintenance analysis and data science.
 - Design and develop scalable data warehousing solutions, building ETL pipelines in large data environments (cloud, on-prem, hybrid) using technologies such as Hadoop, AWS, Snowflake, Flink, and Windstream, with programming languages like Python and Scala.
 - Help engineer data solutions/structures and define data models for the primary data warehouse and data marts, ensuring data quality and governance.
 - Collaborate with Data Product Managers, Data Modelers, and Data Architects to design, implement, and deliver successful data solutions that meet business needs.
 - Maintain detailed documentation of your work and changes to support data quality and data governance, ensuring high operational efficiency and quality of your solutions.
 - Ensure adherence to SLAs and support commitment to clients (Data Science, Data Analysis teams) through your work.
 - Be an active participant and advocate for agile/scrum practices to ensure safety and process improvements for your team.
 
Essential Qualifications and Skills
To excel as a Lead Data Engineer at blithequark, you should possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, demonstrating a strong foundation in computer science, information technology, or a related discipline.
 - Strong SQL skills and the ability to craft queries to extract insights and build performant datasets.
 - Hands-on experience with distributed systems like Flink, Hadoop (HDFS, Hive, Voila, PySpark) to query and process data efficiently.
 - Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java/Scala, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for coding.
 - Experience with at least one major MPP or cloud database technology (Snowflake, Redshift, Big Query), understanding its capabilities and limitations.
 - Familiarity with data integration toolsets (e.g., Windstream) and the ability to write and maintain complex data pipelines.
