Job Overview
In this critical role, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service by explaining policy coverage, claim status, and assisting with claim payments or other policy information to policyholders and/or interested third parties via inbound calls. You will utilize multiple systems to ensure that all inquiries and issues are handled promptly and professionally, with a focus on first contact resolution and high customer satisfaction. As a key member of our team, you will maintain adherence to defined operational standards, including attendance, utilization, call quality, and other performance metrics.
Primary Responsibilities
- Handle a high volume of inbound calls, approximately 70-120 calls per day, in a fast-paced call center environment
 - Provide heavy phone contact with policyholders, providers, and interested third parties, ensuring that all customer needs are met on every interaction
 - Review and maintain new and revised procedures regarding policy information, staying up-to-date on industry developments and company policies
 - Ensure customer needs are met on every interaction, including phone, email, written correspondence, and other communication channels
 - Maintain department standards for the number of calls, average handle time, and time management, consistently meeting or exceeding performance targets
 
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to meet the following requirements:
- 1+ years of work experience in a high-volume contact center environment, with additional experience in a receptionist role or a position that involves taking calls on a daily basis
 - 18 years of age or older
 - High School Diploma or equivalent
 - Remote experience is strongly preferred but not required
 - Reliable internet connection with a minimum upload and download speed of 20 Mbps, and a hard-wired connection
 - Must have a smartphone to access VPN
 - Insurance industry experience is considered a plus but not a requirement
 - Must have or be willing to obtain a fire extinguisher for safety reasons
 - Quiet and professional workplace
 - Basic computer knowledge and skills
 - Excellent oral and written communication skills
 - Minimum typing requirement of 30 words per minute
 - Proficient use of computer, keyboard functions, and Microsoft Office
 - Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
 - Excellent organization and time management skills
 
Location and Schedule
This is a remote position, with the opportunity to work from home nationwide (excluding certain states). You will need to have open availability Monday through Friday between 7:30 am and 6:30 pm CST. After completing the training program, you will be assigned to a 40-hour workweek, with a Monday through Friday schedule and no weekend shifts unless overtime is presented.
Training and Development
Our comprehensive training program is designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in this role. The training program is 2-3 weeks long, Monday through Friday from 8 am to 4:30 pm CST. You will learn about our policies, procedures, and systems, as well as develop the skills and competencies required to provide exceptional customer service.
