Job Overview

As a Customer Service Representative at blithequark, you will be the face of our airline, extending hospitality to our clients at the ticket counter, baggage service office, and gate area. You will be responsible for providing amazing customer service to individuals seeking to travel, use cargo or baggage services, and handling their needs in a friendly and efficient manner. Your role will be critical in setting a positive tone for our clients' travel experience, and we are looking for someone who is friendly, patient, and enjoys working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Offer friendly assistance and maintain positive relationships with all internal and external clients
  • Work in a cooperative spirit to ensure the success of our organization
  • Provide exceptional customer service to individuals seeking to travel, use cargo or baggage services, and handle their needs in a friendly and efficient manner
  • Handle all aspects of ticketing and check-in by operating an automated retail system, boarding, baggage handling, reservations, and resolving related complaints and issues
  • Greet and handle clients in a courteous and friendly manner, handling cash, checks, credit cards, travel vouchers, and coupons as forms of payment for tickets
  • Process transactions, make change, and balance daily transactions, being responsible for any overage or shortage
  • Check in baggage and cargo, answer phone calls to provide information to guests, page clients, resolve issues or complaints, and assist as needed
  • Handle transactions required to board the aircraft in an efficient and timely manner
  • Manage upset clients due to oversells, delayed or canceled flights, lost, delayed, or damaged baggage, resolving issues quickly and within guidelines established by the organization
  • Provide current and accurate admission, schedule, reservations, flight arrival/departure information, and answer general questions from clients and other airport visitors
  • Complete forms and reports as required by the organization
  • Prepare inconsistency and complaint reports as needed

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a Bachelor's degree and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You should be able to work well under pressure, meet deadlines, and maintain a high level of professionalism in a fast-paced environment. Additionally, you should be able to:

  • Type or use a computer keyboard with adequate speed to meet the needs of the job
  • Understand documents, follow instructions, learn and understand ticketing procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Work cooperatively with others as part of a team, meet the public, and work under stressful conditions
  • Complete the Customer Service Representative training program with an 80% or higher average and a probationary period
  • Be aware of hazardous situations and be able to handle emergencies on a case-by-case basis
  • Work under close time constraints to achieve quick turns of aircraft
  • Maintain a well-groomed appearance in accordance with the Ground Operations Representative Handbook and Employment Agreement
  • Be able to perform all job functions within a limited space
  • Communicate verbally by phone, in person, and on public address systems effectively
  • Have good written and oral skills
  • Be able to communicate information and instructions verbally or via radio equipment

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:

  • Previous experience in customer service or a related field
  • Knowledge of airline operations and procedures
  • Ability to speak multiple languages
  • Experience working in a team environment
  • Basic knowledge of computer systems and software applications
