Key Responsibilities

As an Insurance Customer Service Representative at blithequark, you'll be responsible for handling a range of customer service and billing inquiries related to property and casualty insurance. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Contacting policyholders via telephone, email, and direct mail to review policies, update information, and enhance retention
  • Providing customers with plan coverage information, quotes, policy changes, and policy change impacts to premium
  • Receiving and responding to calls and emails received by the insurance service center, documenting all activity in our system
  • Utilizing knowledge of insurance industry and company policies and procedures to provide efficient and professional customer service
  • Identifying opportunities to apply discounts, processing insurance verification forms, and acting as a liaison for information exchange between customers and insurance companies
  • Processing changes to policies within our system and submitting changes to specific companies, following up to ensure timely processing
  • Reviewing policy information and referencing company-specific claims procedures to assist insured in filing claims
  • Recognizing cross-sell opportunities and obtaining quote information
  • Performing other duties as assigned

Essential and Preferred Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent and 3+ years of increasingly complex customer service experience in an insurance environment
  • A Property and Casualty insurance license (required)
  • A Membership license (preferred) or the ability to obtain within 90 days of employment
