About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Pharmacist to join our team at blithequark. As a Pharmacist, you'll play a vital role in delivering patient-centered care, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our pharmacy, and contributing to the success of our organization. Key Responsibilities

  • Patient Experience
    • Engage with patients, respond to their queries, and resolve issues to ensure a positive experience.
    • Model and promote customer service best practices, demonstrating care and empathy.
    • Proactively offer services and support to patients, enhancing their overall experience.
    • Participate in events and activities that reflect the unique communities we serve.
  • Tasks
    • Counsel patients on medication use, side effects, and interactions, and refer to healthcare providers as needed.
    • Perform pharmacist tasks, including compounding, medication therapy reviews, and prescription management.
    • Review, interpret, and accurately dispense prescribed medications.
    • Ensure the pharmacy operates in accordance with regulations, company policies, and standards.
    • Support the pharmacy supervisor in developing procedures to promote efficient workflow.
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of information technology related to pharmacy systems.
    • Ensure accurate processing of insurance claims and respond to patient issues.
    • Communicate with healthcare providers to clarify prescriptions and respond to queries.
    • Perform clinical and health services, such as vaccinations and diagnostic testing.
    • Support the pharmacy supervisor in analyzing performance data and identifying areas for improvement.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with local healthcare professionals and participate in community outreach activities.
  • People and Performance Management
    • Assist the Pharmacy Administrator with staff hiring and training.
    • Develop the skills of Pharmacy Supervisors through coaching and feedback.
    • Promote collaboration and motivate colleagues by setting expectations and recognizing progress.
  • Training and Self-Development
    • Maintain current knowledge and required licensure/credentialing/certification.
    • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices.
    • Acquire necessary certifications, education credits, and training.
    • Seek professional development opportunities and feedback from supervisors and mentors.

Essential Capabilities

  • BS in Pharmacy or Pharmacist Degree from an accredited educational institution.
  • Current pharmacist licensure in the states within the region.
  • Experience performing prescription dispensing activities, demonstrating a strong understanding of relevant state and federal controlled substance laws.
  • Certified Immunizer or ability to become an immunizer within 90 days of hire.

Preferred Capabilities

  • At least 2 years of experience as a pharmacist in a retail setting, including prescription filling and verification, records and legal compliance, pharmacy operations, pharmacy software and technology systems, and insurance.
