Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure overall data management concerns are addressed in the solution: data acquisition, data association, data administration, data quality, data dissemination, data storage and maintenance, data security, data coordination, reference and master data management, analysis, and metadata management.
  • Align data and information models to enterprise, solution, and technical architectures at the portfolio and solution train levels.
  • Lead identification of reusable data services to speed up delivery of value and eliminate data replication.
  • Collaborate with design DBAs and solution engineers to provide guidance on logical designs and transition to implemented data structures.
  • Provide applied and detailed design of data structures for data at rest (databases) and data in motion (API interfaces, messages).
  • Establish and accurately document data lineage in the context of solution engineering, data analysis, and Blithequark's three-level architecture (External Edge, Inner Edge, Strong Core).
  • Collaborate with data analytics associations (EDA and DataWorks) and business areas to leverage data lakes to derive insights into operational efficiencies.
  • Define architectural patterns and platform rules to ingest and operationalize data scientific capabilities.
  • Collaborate with physical design database administrators to implement and enforce platform guidelines.
  • Support affected application engineers and integrated release trains during implementation.

Essential Qualifications

  • Four-year college education in software engineering, design, data systems, or equivalent proper training or work experience.
  • Five (5) years of equivalent work experience in data technology or engineering environment.
  • A connected postgraduate education may offset the connected experience requirement.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience across all phases of data modeling, from conceptualization to database optimization.
  • In-depth knowledge of data integration concepts, approaches, and tools to carry out data combination strategies effectively.
  • Data virtualization, analysis, and integration techniques.
  • Applied data modeling techniques.
  • Data performance optimization and modeling.
  • Experience with implementing engineering standards and design patterns.
  • Knowledge of service-oriented architecture (SOA), microservices, and data services.
  • Experience with business and enterprise engineering frameworks like BIZBOK and TOGAF.
  • Experience with end-to-end solution engineering for data functions including.
  • Familiar understanding of best practices for supporting data lakes, shared aspects, and analytical designs.
  • Experience with continuous and batch data ingestion.
  • Demonstrated expertise in working in large environments like RDBMS, EDW, NoSQL, etc.
  • Working knowledge of data modeling tools (ideally Sparx, ER/Studio).
  • Involved experience with various data technologies including Oracle, Data Stax/Cassandra, Redis, Kafka (at least 3 years).
