About the Role: Shaping the Future of Allied Health Sciences Education

As the Program Director for Allied Health Sciences, you will be responsible for overseeing our allied health sciences programs, teaching, and mentoring students, and driving program effectiveness through curriculum development, faculty supervision, and accreditation management. This is a full-time remote position that requires a strong commitment to our institution's mission and a dedication to student success. The successful candidate will be a visionary leader with a passion for healthcare education, a proven track record of program management, and a strong background in allied health sciences.

Key Responsibilities: Leadership, Education, and Innovation

  • Program Leadership: Supervise specific allied health sciences programs, ensuring alignment with accreditation standards and institutional goals.
  • Curriculum Development: Participate in curriculum development and textbook reviews to ensure programs remain relevant and effective.
  • Academic Advising: Provide academic advising and scheduling assistance to students, promoting student success and retention.
  • Faculty Supervision: Observe and evaluate faculty performance, providing feedback and support to enhance teaching quality.
  • Externship Coordination: Collaborate with the Externship Coordinator to ensure seamless program delivery and student preparation.
  • Committee Leadership: Chair the Curriculum Committee and Advisory Board for assigned programs, driving program improvement and innovation.
  • Innovative Education: Incorporate external resources, such as guest speakers and simulations, into courses to enhance student engagement and learning.
  • Technology Integration: Utilize various technologies, including Canvas and synchronous video delivery tools, to enhance educational delivery and student experience.
  • Accreditation Management: Participate in institutional accreditation activities and manage programmatic accreditation activities to ensure compliance and excellence.

Teaching Responsibilities: Engaging Students and Fostering Success

  • Hold live, synchronous class sessions with students at least every other week for the duration of the 10-week term.
  • Conduct up to 2 hours of additional live lecture each week for classes with lab components, promoting hands-on learning and student engagement.

Qualifications and Requirements: Expertise and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Master's degree in a healthcare-related field, demonstrating a strong foundation in allied health sciences.
  • CMA, RMA, NCMA, CMAC, or CCMA certification with at least three years of field experience, showcasing your expertise and commitment to the field.
  • At least one year of experience teaching online, synchronous courses, highlighting your ability to adapt to innovative educational delivery methods.
  • Experience with Canvas and Zoom, demonstrating your proficiency in educational technology.
  • A proven track record in managing and aligning educational programs to meet rigorous accreditation standards, such as ABHES, DEAC, and CAAHEP.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English, enhancing your ability to communicate with diverse student populations.
  • Curriculum development experience, demonstrating your ability to design and implement effective educational programs.
