Job Overview
In this role, you will be responsible for working closely with Tesla's procurement team to identify upstream suppliers, assess risks associated with these suppliers, and develop strategies to mitigate these risks. You will also collaborate with internal stakeholders to promote supply chain transparency and compliance, and work with external partners to improve data quality and enhance the value of Tesla's supply chain. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of supply chains in the automotive, energy, or technology sectors, as well as experience working with global suppliers and managing complex data sets.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with Tesla's procurement team to understand their current efforts to map supply chains and identify areas for improvement
 - Collaborate with Tesla's supply chain team to educate on the importance of supply chain transparency and gather data on upstream organizations
 - Understand Tesla's current supply chain mapping efforts, identify areas for improvement, and report on processes
 - Communicate global requirements related to supply chain transparency to procurement managers and increase understanding of relevant risks
 - Work with existing or potential third-party suppliers to improve data quality and enhance value to Tesla
 - Collaborate with Tesla's internal applications teams to understand Tesla's supplier data and how this can be used to better identify upstream suppliers
 - Support the development of supply chain visualizations using GIS systems to highlight potential areas of risk using various data sources and points
 - Create and lead phases of training for internal and supplier audiences on relevant topics and Tesla's expectations for supply chain transparency
 - Collaborate with global teams to enhance Tesla's ESG efforts and process
 - Build and manage relationships with internal teams to facilitate engagement
 
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Systems Management, Regulatory Compliance, Business, Communications, Geographic Information Systems, or Sustainability, or equivalent experience or proof of exceptional ability
 - 3+ years of strategic and operational supplier management experience in the automotive, consulting, or tech industry, supporting supply chain regulatory compliance
 - Broad knowledge of supply chains and experience working at identifying and communicating with upstream suppliers
 - Foundation in supply chain sustainability, responsible sourcing preferred
 - Ability to present complex issues in a clear and concise manner and provide concise results-oriented supply chain expertise
 - Experience working with ArcGIS or equivalent systems to build GIS visualizations integrating multiple data sources a plus
 - Experience working with global suppliers, especially in China, Southeast Asia, and Mexico
 - Exceptional communication, strategic thinking, and interpersonal skills
 
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant field, such as Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or Sustainability
 - 5+ years of experience in supply chain management, with a focus on regulatory compliance and sustainability
 - Experience working with electric vehicle or clean energy companies
 - Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and standards, such as Conflict Minerals or Modern Slavery
 - Experience with data analysis and visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI
 - Fluency in multiple languages, especially Mandarin, Spanish, or other languages relevant to Tesla's global supply chain
