Key Responsibilities

  • Handle property & casualty insurance-related customer service and billing inquiries via telephone, email, and direct mail.
  • Provide customers with plan coverage information, quotes, policy changes, and policy change impacts to premium.
  • Review and update policies to enhance retention and better meet customer needs.
  • Counsel policyholders on appropriate coverage, policy limits, payment options, and state laws to ensure sufficient protection against risks covered by Property and Casualty insurance.
  • Make recommendations and/or changes to policies and gain policyholder acceptance to process changes.
  • Document all activity in EPIC, including changes to policies, coverage options, recommendations, and cross-selling.
  • Utilize knowledge of insurance industry and blithequark's insurance agency policies and procedures to provide efficient and professional customer service.
  • Identify opportunities to apply discounts, process insurance verification forms, and act as a liaison for information exchange between customers and insurance companies.
  • Process changes to policies within EPIC and submit changes to specific companies, following up to ensure timely processing.
  • Review policy information and reference company-specific claims procedures to assist insured in filing claims.
  • Recognize cross-sell opportunities and obtain quote information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential and Preferred Qualifications

To succeed as an Insurance Customer Service Representative at blithequark, you'll need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of increasingly complex customer service experience in an insurance environment.
  • A Property and Casualty insurance license (required).
  • A Membership license (preferred) or the ability to obtain one within 90 days of employment.
