As a Remote Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional customer service to Indiana Medicaid members and providers, ensuring seamless pharmacy coverage and claims processing.

As a Remote Pharmacy Technician, you will work from the comfort of your own home, utilizing your strong technical skills and pharmacy expertise to drive success in our Prior Authorizations team.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and approve/deny requests for prescription prior authorization and/or appeal, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
 - Scan, index, and prepare documents related to prior authorization and/or appeal requests, verifying and updating patient/member profile information as needed.
 - Compile medical notes from patients/providers in support of requests, review requests against decision trees and approval protocols, and perform outreach for additional information as necessary.
 - Update approved requests in claims systems and inform patients/providers of approval, ensuring timely and effective communication.
 - Forward applicable requests through additional review paths as needed, demonstrating a thorough understanding of our processes and procedures.
 - Ensure Rx denial is communicated to patients/providers along with rationale, providing clear and compassionate explanations.
 
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A High school diploma or equivalent.
 - 1-2 years of prior pharmacy experience (retail, LTC, hospital, etc.), providing a solid foundation in pharmacy operations and customer service.
 - A valid Indiana Pharmacy Technician license, demonstrating your commitment to the profession and adherence to state regulations.
 - Valid national CPhT certification, or the ability to obtain within six months of hire, showcasing your expertise and dedication to the field.
 - Proficiency with computers, software systems, data entry, and Microsoft Office suite, enabling you to efficiently manage multiple tasks and priorities.
 - Strong time management skills, including the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
 - A customer-oriented mindset, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ensuring effective collaboration with patients, providers, and team members.
 - A self-motivated attitude, with a strong work ethic and commitment to completing tasks on time.
 - A positive attitude and dedication to our company values: Committed, Collaborative, Consultative, Caring.
 - The ability to pass E-Verify, a criminal background screen, and a pre-employment drug screen, ensuring a safe and secure work environment.
 - The flexibility to work overtime as needed to support department goals, demonstrating your commitment to our team's success.
 
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
- Prior experience working with Medicaid and/or government healthcare, providing a deeper understanding of the complexities and nuances of these systems.
 - Experience working in a remote setting, demonstrating your ability to work independently and effectively in a virtual environment.
 - Call center experience, showcasing your ability to manage multiple calls and priorities while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
 - Inbound/outbound call experience in any pharmacy setting, highlighting your expertise in handling customer inquiries and concerns.
