Job Overview: Remote Summer Camp Director (North Seattle)

We're seeking an exceptional leader to join our team as a Remote Summer Camp Director based in North Seattle. This role offers a unique blend of remote and on-site work, allowing you to experience the best of both worlds. As a Summer Camp Director, you'll play a pivotal role in creating a welcoming and vibrant camp atmosphere, leading a team of staff members, and fostering strong relationships with parents and camper families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations to guarantee a seamless camp experience, ensuring well-maintained facilities and organized spaces.
  • Inspire and lead a team of 15-30 staff members, depending on the camp size, through expert coaching and support.
  • Foster strong relationships with parents and camper families through regular communication, addressing concerns, and promoting a collaborative community atmosphere.
  • Participate in local events to engage with potential camper families during the pre-camp season.
  • Maintain compliance with organizational policies and cultivate a positive work environment.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, you'll need:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in K-8 education or equivalent coursework combined with relevant work experience.
  • At least 1 year of management experience, demonstrating a capacity to coach and lead a successful team.
  • Availability for part-time remote work in February 2025 and full-time on-site work commencing in June 2025.
  • A valid CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) and Mandatory Reporter Certification.
  • Proficiency in operations management, prioritizing camper safety and customer satisfaction.
  • Strong student-focused leadership, able to connect with campers using warmth, humor, and attentiveness to safety standards.
  • An adaptable and positive attitude, approaching challenges with enthusiasm and a solution-oriented perspective.
  • A commitment to empowering others, fostering a culture of celebration, innovation, and personal development.

Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, the following qualifications will be considered a plus:

  • Experience in managing summer camps or similar programs.
  • Knowledge of educational programs and curricula for K-8 students.
  • Certifications or training in child development, education, or a related field.

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits

  • A weekly salary of $1,350 per week, based on experience and location.
  • A training and camp preparation rate of $21 per hour for pre-camp training and preparation.
  • Bonus opportunities, including $1 per camper enrollment and additional commission for "add-on weeks."
