Job Summary

As an Access Project Assistant, you will play a vital role in coordinating and supporting our Access Project program, which is designed to provide enriching experiences for Adults with Disabilities. You'll work closely with our Community Education Adult Programs Coordinator to build partnerships, develop marketing strategies, and deliver high-quality programs and events. This is an excellent opportunity to leverage your skills and experience to drive positive change and make a lasting impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Building Partnerships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with local group homes and other Adults with Disabilities programs to promote our Access Project program and foster collaborative opportunities.
  • Program Development and Delivery: Create, teach, and staff projects, classes, and events that cater to the diverse needs and interests of Adults with Disabilities.
  • Program Coordination: Manage purchasing, supplies, and program logistics while staying within budget, ensuring seamless execution of program activities.
  • Volunteer and Staff Recruitment: Identify, recruit, and coordinate volunteers and staff to support program delivery and events.
  • Marketing and Promotion: Collaborate with our Adult and Marketing Coordinators to develop and implement effective marketing strategies that promote our Access Project program.
  • Program Materials and Updates: Review, update, and maintain written program materials to ensure accuracy, relevance, and consistency.
  • General Duties and Professional Development: Perform other tasks as assigned, attend program meetings, and participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, you'll need:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent, with a preference for post-secondary education or relevant certifications.
  • Experience working with Adults with Disabilities, demonstrating a deep understanding of their needs and aspirations.
  • A proven track record of working effectively with diverse families, communities, and organizations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with families, staff, and community agencies.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including days, evenings, and occasional weekends.
  • The ability to work independently, exercising sound judgment and decision-making skills.
  • A commitment to maintaining confidentiality, upholding data privacy rules, and handling sensitive information with professionalism.
  • A strong work ethic, with a proven ability to report to work regularly and punctually.

Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, the following qualifications will be highly regarded:

  • Experience in program development, marketing, and coordination.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with disability services and support systems.
  • Certifications or training in areas related to disability support, such as CPR, First Aid, or crisis intervention.
