As a Biostatistician II in our Department of Internal Medicine, you will have the opportunity to work closely with clinicians, researchers, and medical students to design, analyze, and interpret data from various research studies. Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with biomedical investigators, medical students, and researchers to develop study objectives, design sampling and data collection procedures, and determine appropriate statistical methodologies.
  • Perform power and sample size analyses, develop plans for study monitoring and statistical analysis, and draft the statistical section for IRB applications and grant proposals.
  • Assume primary responsibility for data analysis and presentation, including the selection and application of appropriate statistical methods, data visualization, and interpretation of results.
  • Design and implement study activities, process improvements, and provide consultation, technical assistance, and coordination for medical students and investigators.
  • Develop and maintain databases, assess data quality, and evaluate sources of existing data to determine limitations and reliability.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest software packages and techniques in data analytics and visualization, including Python programming, PowerBI, REDCap, PySpark, Scikit-Learn, and PyTorch.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional-level experience in biostatistics, statistics, or a related field.
  • A minimum of three years of relevant work experience in biostatistics, clinical research, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, written, and oral communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred candidates will have:

  • A Master's degree in biostatistics, statistics, or a related field.
  • Python programming skills and experience with PowerBI, REDCap, PySpark, Scikit-Learn, and PyTorch.
  • Previous experience in research, applied statistics, data mining, and machine learning.
