Job Description
As a Child Care Cook and Food Specialist at Tutor Time of Massapequa, you'll play a vital role in providing healthy, nutritious meals and snacks to our enrolled children. You'll be responsible for creating home-style meal plans, preparing meals and snacks, and maintaining a safe and organized kitchen environment. Key Responsibilities
- Create home-style, nutritional meal plans within the boundaries of our school's menu and budget, as well as state and federal requirements
- Prepare meals and snacks for children and staff, and distribute food to the classrooms
- Follow the daily menu provided by the Director, incorporating USDA, licensing, and/or health department regulations
- Maintain inventory of food and supplies, and order more when needed
- Assist in classrooms as needed as an Assistant Teacher/Floater
Requirements and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- Work experience in cooking and/or food preparation for multiple individuals in a childcare facility (preferred)
- A willingness to learn and adhere to all current state and local regulations
- Flexibility as to the hours and schedule of work
- A high school diploma or equivalent (required)
- A food safety certification (preferred)
