Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Early Childhood Special Education Para Educator to join our team. As a Para Educator, you will play a vital role in supporting our students with special needs, assisting teachers, and contributing to the overall success of our educational programs. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized support and assistance to students with special needs, ensuring their academic, social, and emotional growth
  • Assist teachers with lesson planning, preparation, and implementation, as well as grading and record-keeping
  • Administer tests, tutor students in small groups, and provide one-on-one support as needed
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other staff members to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment
  • Supervise students during daily activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
  • Operate and maintain equipment related to job assignments, as well as perform other duties as required

Qualifications and Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • An Associate's Degree (AA or AS) or 60 semester credits of post-secondary education (equivalent of 2 years)
  • A passing score on the paraprofessional assessment test (if applicable)
  • A strong interest and ability to provide assistance to children with special needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and other staff members
  • A commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
  • A willingness to learn and adapt to new situations, as well as a positive and flexible attitude

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with students with special needs, particularly in an early childhood setting
  • Knowledge of special education principles, practices, and regulations
  • Experience with behavioral support strategies and techniques
  • Ability to speak multiple languages (desired but not required)
