About the Role

As a Graduate Nurse at Canonsburg Hospital, you will be an integral part of our interdisciplinary team, working closely with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to our patients. Your primary responsibility will be to utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for the age-appropriate population. You will also be expected to initiate interdisciplinary plans of care based on assessment findings and physician orders, complete patient documentation in a comprehensive manner, and promote communication between caregivers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize the nursing process to provide and coordinate the plan of patient care for the age-appropriate population
  • Initiate interdisciplinary plan of care based on assessment findings and physician orders
  • Complete patient documentation in a comprehensive manner and promote communication between caregivers
  • Contribute to Division, Hospital, and Department goals
  • Provide detailed and appropriate teaching to patients and families to effectively guide them through the episode of care as well as transition to another level of care and/or home
  • Collaborate and support the development of students, new staff, and colleagues
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required

Qualifications and Requirements

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you must have completed an RN training program and have PA RN licensure or have applied for a practice permit. You must also have CPR Certification that meets American Heart Association Guidelines. All new Graduate Nurses are enrolled into the Allegheny Health Network, Nurse Residency Program, which is a paid, 1-year program that includes 4 hours/month away from the bedside, based on 3 core curriculum areas: Leadership, Patient Safety, and Professional Role.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Completed RN training program
  • PA RN licensure or have applied for practice permit
  • CPR Certification that meets American Heart Association Guidelines
  • Enrollment into the Allegheny Health Network, Nurse Residency Program

  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting
