Requirements and Qualifications

• A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Health Information Technology, Medical Specialties, or a closely related field, demonstrating your expertise in the subject matter.
• At least 5 years of full-time work experience in the area to be taught, ensuring you have practical knowledge and real-world insights to share with students.
• Current employment in the field to be taught, keeping your skills and knowledge up-to-date and relevant.
• ICD-9 and ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS knowledge and experience, as well as certification as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) and Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), or another similar certification, highlighting your professional credentials.
• A degree earned from an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the United States Secretary of Education and/or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), or, for non-U.S. institutions, an accepted foreign equivalent that is listed in the International Handbook of Universities (18th ed.).
