Job Overview

As a Lead Teacher at Childcare Network, you'll be responsible for creating a safe, warm, and inviting classroom environment that encourages learning, exploration, and growth. You'll work closely with families, colleagues, and children to develop strong relationships, provide daily progress updates, and foster a sense of community and partnership. With a focus on providing high-quality care and education, you'll adhere to all minimum licensing, quality rated, and/or accreditation guidelines and company standards, ensuring that every child receives the best possible start in life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide and maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment that promotes learning and exploration
  • Communicate daily with families regarding student progress, needs, and achievements to encourage partnership and support
  • Develop strong professional relationships with children, parents, and colleagues to foster a sense of community and engagement
  • Maintain accurate records, including attendance, child portfolios, USDA documentation, and other records required by local agencies
  • Utilize our science-based, proprietary curriculum and suggested supplement activities to create a fun and engaging learning environment tailored to each child's developmental needs
  • Contribute to the center's success by partnering with team members and leadership to achieve goals around enrollment, accreditations, and family engagement
  • Prepare and serve meals and snacks for children, ensuring a nutritious and healthy diet

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • Genuine warmth and understanding of the needs of young children and their families
  • A positive attitude and self-image, with a commitment to innovation and creativity
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with coworkers, parents, and children
  • 1-3 years of teaching experience or certification (we'll support you in obtaining certification if you don't have it)
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Must pass the state-required criminal background check and meet all state certifications and requirements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Early childhood education degree or related field
  • Experience working with children aged six weeks to twelve years
  • Familiarity with science-based, proprietary curriculum and educational programs
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities
