Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled research assistant to manage the data collection process from research participants, collaborate with the co-directors of the Office of Holistic Excellence, and work closely with faculty and staff, particularly instructors teaching in the University Honors Program. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating with Honors instructors, recruiting and tracking study participants, ensuring the distribution and accounting of participant incentives, and organizing and maintaining secure access to both quantitative and qualitative data generated by the study. Additionally, the research assistant may assist in coding qualitative data for themes and communicating research findings in reports, publications, and presentations.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate with Honors instructors to facilitate the data collection process
 - Recruit and track study participants, ensuring diverse and representative samples
 - Distribute and account for participant incentives, maintaining accurate records
 - Organize and maintain secure access to all data, adhering to confidentiality and data protection protocols
 - Assist in coding qualitative data for themes, using appropriate software and methodologies
 - Contribute to the preparation of research reports, publications, and presentations, communicating findings effectively to various audiences
 - Collaborate with the research team, including faculty, staff, and students, to achieve project goals and objectives
 - Participate in meetings with faculty and honors students, which may occur on the University of Michigan-Dearborn campus or virtually through Zoom
 
Essential and Preferred Qualifications
To be considered for this role, applicants must possess a strong foundation in research methodologies, data analysis, and communication skills. Essential qualifications include:
- A bachelor's degree in psychology, sociology, anthropology, or a related field
 - Experience in research data collection and management, preferably in a academic or research setting
