About the Role

As our Verizon Business Development Sales Manager, you will be the driving force behind our proactive engagements with Verizon. You'll be responsible for identifying, qualifying, positioning, selling, negotiating, and closing multi-year complex business relationships with senior client executives, including CEOs, CFOs, CTOs, and Board of Directors. Your goal will be to create and execute sales strategies that align with Verizon's overall business initiatives and drive growth through the Calix platform.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute sales strategies that apply across Verizon's business initiatives and customer organizations
  • Lead and participate in developing complex solutions that meet Verizon's business needs
  • Establish competitive value and close opportunities through value-based selling and strategic account management
  • Manage customer organizations and overall relationship maps to drive growth and success
  • Evangelize and promote the Calix platform vision and unique value proposition to senior client executives
  • Partner with other companies to enhance Calix's solution or relationship with Verizon
  • Utilize a structured sales methodology to drive predictable pipeline quality and growth
  • Orchestrate the holistic Calix team, including executives, solutions engineers, specialists, product, and marketing teams

What We Are Looking For

Essential Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience selling similar solutions to Verizon Consumer and Business entities
  • Extensive relationships within and across Verizon organizations, including Product, Planning, Device Marketing, and related entities
  • Strong customer-facing and relationship management skills with negotiation and influencing skills
  • Successful track record of sales success with increasingly complex deal and solution sales into Verizon
  • A well-developed and consistent sales process/methodology focused on selling business outcomes
  • Knowledge of platforms and architectures used by Verizon in delivering Consumer and SMB services
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Expertise in utilizing discovery to learn and enable client understanding

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with broadband services providers, specifically Tier 1 and 2 cable operators selling platform solutions to C-Levels
  • 10+ years of successful experience in related sales and strategy execution
  • Preference for candidates living in the NYC metro area or surrounding areas
