Job Overview
As a Seasonal Competitive Cyclist Gearhead, you'll be responsible for providing concierge-level service to our customers, answering their questions, and helping them find the right gear for their riding needs. You'll be working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, where no two days are ever the same. Your goal will be to build long-term relationships with our customers, and to provide them with an exceptional experience that will keep them coming back for more.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide concierge-level service to our customers, answering their questions and helping them find the right gear for their riding needs
- Assist customers with general product questions, and provide detailed information about our products and services
- Build and maintain relationships with our customers, providing them with exceptional service and support
- Solve problems, answer questions about orders, returns, shipping, and order status
- Contact customers via follow-up, to ensure that they're satisfied with their purchases and to gather feedback
- Learn our processes and systems, to meet our customers' needs and provide them with an exceptional experience
- Work alongside a motivated and fun team, all of whom are passionate about cycling and customer service
- Build your product knowledge through training and assisting our customers
- Answer inbound calls and make outbound calls, as needed
Requirements and Qualifications
To be successful as a Seasonal Competitive Cyclist Gearhead, you'll need to have a strong passion for cycling, and a deep understanding of bikes, parts, and gear. You'll also need to have excellent customer service skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with our customers.
Essential Qualifications:
- A passion for cycling, and a deep understanding of bikes, parts, and gear
- Excellent customer service skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with our customers
- Basic computer operating skills, and the ability to multitask and prioritize
- Schedule flexibility, including weekends and evenings until 10:00pm
- Ability to build and maintain long-term relationships with customers
- Ability to use active listening to identify customer needs, concerns, and complaints
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the cycling industry, or a related field
- Customer service and sales experience, preferably in a call center or retail environment
- Knowledge of bike parts, gear, and apparel, and the ability to provide detailed information about our products and services
Training and Support
As a Seasonal Competitive Cyclist Gearhead, you'll receive comprehensive training and support to help you succeed in your role. Our training program is designed to provide you with the knowledge and skills you need to provide exceptional customer service, and to help you build your product knowledge and expertise.
Training Details:
- Training dates: November 4th through November 22nd
- Training schedule: Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm (Mountain Time Zone)
- Training location: Remote, with online access to our training platform
Compensation and Benefits
As a Seasonal Competitive Cyclist Gearhead, you'll receive a competitive hourly rate of $17.50 per hour, and you'll have access to a range of benefits and perks, including:

Work Environment and Physical Demands
As a Seasonal Competitive Cyclist Gearhead, you'll be working in a remote environment, with the ability to work from home. You'll need to have a reliable computer, internet connection, and headset, and you'll need to be able to work in a quiet, distraction-free environment.
Physical Demands:
- Keyboarding: Entering text or data into a computer or other machine by means of a traditional keyboard
- Speaking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of spoken word to impart oral information to clients or the public and to convey detailed spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly
- Hearing Requirements: The ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds (in person speech, telephone, other remote speech)
- Near Visual Acuity: Clarity of vision at approximately 20 inches or less (i.e., reading small print), including use of computers
