As a Senior Manager, Programs and Research, you will play a pivotal role in steering and supporting the overall program management at ICRAF, focusing on the nexus between gender perspectives, agricultural research for development, environment and climate change, agribusiness systems, agricultural policy, and practice in Africa.

Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Manager, Programs and Research, you will be responsible for:
- Contributing to setting specific objectives, targets, and milestones for programs and research initiatives, monitoring progress, and recommending innovative ideas and actions for design, planning, and implementation.
- Ensuring the overall execution of ICRAF's programmatic work, including effective activity planning, overseeing day-to-day program operations, and specific projects, production of deliverables with high-quality standards, and supporting risk management efforts.
- Leading the development of a comprehensive research base at ICRAF, including the generation and dissemination of knowledge in various forms and to various audiences.
- Coordinating with the Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning (ME&L) team to develop and implement the ICRAF ME&L strategy, design progress tracking systems, and measure program impact.
- Collaborating with the Communications and ME&L teams to review and disseminate key findings and learnings from program implementation to various audiences and stakeholders.
- Preparing programmatic progress updates and providing support for donor reporting, including liaising with different units to collect and consolidate inputs.
- Contributing to ICRAF's resource mobilization efforts, identifying new funding opportunities, and providing guidance on strengthened gender-responsive interventions in agriculture and rural development.
- Representing ICRAF in specific events, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, and proactively supervising a dynamic team of colleagues.
Requirements and Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you should have:
- An advanced university degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in agricultural sciences, socio-economics, international development, business management, or a related field.
- A minimum of eight (8) years of professional experience in program and research/project management, with a focus on gender and policy-related studies, monitoring, and evaluation.
- Experience in managing gender and diversity-related programs with a policy focus, preferably in Africa.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and French.
- Strong expertise in managing and coordinating multiple projects and programs with a wide variety of partners and in different contexts.
- A solid track record of contributions in agricultural research for development, use of mixed-methods approaches, evaluation design, impact assessment, and other strategic analyses focused on gender, agri-food systems, and related research topics.
