• Audit and validate entries for accuracy and compliance with property management accounting best practices.
• Generate and analyze financial and occupancy reports, ensuring data integrity and consistency across properties.
• Identify and correct irregular or misclassified entries, ensuring transactions align with property-level accounting rules.
• Oversee monthly reconciliations of bank, tenant, and owner ledgers.
• Coordinate with property managers and owners to clarify discrepancies or unusual transactions.
• Maintain detailed records for expenses, maintenance, deposits, and capital improvements.
• Optimize DoorLoop workflows and configurations to ensure a clean accounting structure and scalability.
• Prepare month-end and year-end reports, including balance sheets, profit & loss statements, and trust account summaries.
Requirements
• 3–5 years of full-cycle bookkeeping experience within DoorLoop (required).
• Strong understanding of property management accounting, including trust accounting, rent roll management, and owner statements.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and correct data inconsistencies within DoorLoop.
• Proficiency in reconciliation, reporting, and transaction mapping.
• Deep understanding of accounting entries for property operations (rent, deposits, maintenance, vendor payments).
• Experience managing multi-property or portfolio-level accounting.
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical thinking.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with QuickBooks, Buildium, or similar systems (a plus).
Preferred Attributes
• Ability to independently identify errors or missing data without supervision.
• Experience setting up or optimizing DoorLoop for multi-property operations.
• Comfortable suggesting process improvements for accounting workflows and reporting accuracy.
• Organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple deadlines efficiently.
Independent Contractor Perks
• Permanent work-from-home setup
• Immediate hiring
