Join Boys Town – A Century‑Long Legacy of Transforming Lives

From humble beginnings as a boarding house in Omaha, Nebraska, we have grown into a national network of residential homes, schools, health‑care facilities, and research centers. Our mission—“Every Child Deserves a Future”—drives every decision we make, and our team of dedicated professionals is the heart of that mission. Today, we invite a compassionate, committed couple to become a cornerstone of our Rhode Island residential program, creating a warm, family‑style environment where young people can heal, learn, and succeed.

As a Family‑Teaching Couple, you will live on‑site with the youth you serve, providing day‑to‑day guidance, emotional support, and structured learning experiences. This is not a typical “job”; it’s a lifestyle of service, mentorship, and partnership that blends professional expertise with genuine, everyday caring. The position offers:
- Remote‑accessible administrative support for paperwork and budgeting.
 - A generous $10,000 hiring bonus and up to $5,000 relocation assistance to help you settle into the role quickly.
 - Competitive hourly or salary compensation that reflects the critical nature of the work.
 - Opportunities for ongoing professional development, certifications, and a clear pathway to senior leadership within Boys Town.

Key Responsibilities – What Your Day Looks Like
As the primary caregivers and educators, you and your partner will share responsibilities across three core domains: caregiving, teaching, and household management. Below is an expansive list of duties you’ll manage on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
Caregiving & Emotional Support
- Provide a safe, nurturing, and family‑like atmosphere that fosters trust and stability.
 - Offer constant emotional support through praise, positive feedback, affection, and empathy, empowering youth to develop self‑confidence and respect.
 - Utilize rational problem‑solving techniques to counsel youth through personal challenges and conflict resolution.
 - Monitor off‑campus activities, ensuring that all outings, recreational events, and leisure time promote skill development and safety.
 - Implement the Boys Town Model for behavior management, including positive reinforcement and, when necessary, safe, humane crisis intervention techniques such as physical restraint following strict guidelines.
 - Respond promptly to medical needs, administer basic first aid, and coordinate professional healthcare when required.

Teaching & Skill Development
- Design and deliver individualized educational plans that address academic, life‑skill, and vocational goals.
 - Model and teach parenting, family, and relationship skills to youth, legal guardians, and caretaker staff.
 - Facilitate family‑style fun activities—arts & crafts, sports, community service projects—that blend entertainment with learning.
 - Support academic achievement by establishing good study habits, tracking school performance, attending conferences, and communicating with teachers.
 - Foster moral, spiritual, and ethical development through participation in religious services, community outreach, and reflective discussions.
 - Serve as a role model, exhibiting the values and behaviors taught in the program.

Household Management & Administrative Duties
- Maintain household budgets, track expenses, and submit reimbursement statements with supporting receipts.
 - Oversee the upkeep and maintenance of the residential home, coordinating repairs and ensuring a clean, safe living environment.
 - Supervise Assistant Family‑Teachers, providing mentorship, feedback, and scheduling to ensure consistent service delivery.
 - Coordinate transportation using the Boys Town vehicle for appointments, extracurricular activities, and community engagements.
 - Prepare and submit comprehensive progress reports, incident summaries, and documentation for each youth under your care.
 - Act as a liaison with courts, social agencies, parents, school personnel, and other treatment‑team members, representing the youth’s interests and progress.
