**Job Summary**
As an Experienced Dance/Tumbling Instructor, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality dance classes to YMCA members and program participants. You will serve as a positive role model, demonstrating excellent teaching and leadership skills, while maintaining a safe and enjoyable learning environment. This is a part-time position, with a flexible schedule that includes remote work arrangements.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Deliver high-quality dance classes to YMCA members and program participants, ensuring a safe and enjoyable learning environment
* Serve as a positive role model, demonstrating excellent teaching and leadership skills
* Establish and maintain good communication with all participants, members, and supervisor
* Maintain equipment and insure good housekeeping before, during, and after class
* Teach dance to young children, establishing proper class design, including written lesson plans, practice, and research
* Attend all staff meetings and/or trainings when scheduled and assist with fundraising events when needed
* Secure approval from supervisor of a sub when needed
* Report any accidents, concerns, equipment troubles immediately
* Fill out and file with appropriate supervisor all incident reports when needed
* Participate in and solicit others to participate in necessary YMCA financial development efforts, specifically the Annual Campaign
* Maintain certifications listed under Certificates and Other Requirements while ensuring that licensing regulations are met and attend all in-service trainings and staff meetings
* Adhere to all policies and procedures of YMCA of the Iowa Mississippi Valley
* Regular and timely adherence to respective schedule/meetings
* All other duties as assigned by the Branch Executive
**Essential Qualifications**
* High School degree preferred
* Prior dance experience is required
* Must be able to pass background check
* CPR/First Aid/AED certification (obtained within 30 days of hire, if not currently certified)
* Mandatory Reporter certification (obtained within 30 days of hire, if not currently certified)
**Preferred Qualifications**
* Bachelor's degree in Dance or related field
* Experience teaching dance to young children
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Flexibility to work a variety of schedules, including evenings and weekends
