Experienced Post-doctoral Research Fellow in Sexual and Reproductive Health Measure Development and Research – Multidisciplinary Collaboration and Quantitative Methodology Expertise

As a post-doctoral research fellow in our department, you will be part of a dynamic team working on a national project focused on developing and assessing survey items measuring attitudes and public opinion toward abortion in the U.S. for use in both English and Spanish social surveys.
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced post-doctoral research fellow to join our team and contribute to the development and psychometric assessment of survey items measuring attitudes and public opinion toward abortion in the U.S. The successful candidate will work closely with our principal investigators, Drs. Kristen Jozkowski and Brandon Crawford, as well as faculty members from other disciplines at Indiana University, the University of Arkansas, and other academic institutions. This fellowship presents a unique opportunity for post-doctoral researchers to gain research experience, professional development, and work on a national project with a dynamic interdisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in developing survey instruments, conducting qualitative/cognitive interviews, and analyzing interview and survey data
 - Conduct analyses using both quantitative and qualitative data, write manuscripts, prepare reports, and disseminate results at academic conferences
 - Collaborate with the research team to design and implement data collection phases, including qualitative and quantitative methodologies
 - Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including researchers, policymakers, and community leaders
 - Contribute to the development of research proposals, grant applications, and other funding opportunities
 - Participate in departmental and university-wide events, including seminars, workshops, and conferences
 
Essential Qualifications
- Ph.D. in a relevant field, such as social and behavioral sciences (e.g., sociology, psychology, public health, political science)
 - Experience in quantitative methodology, including data management, categorical data analysis, and regression
 - Strong interest and research experience in sexual and reproductive health, particularly in the area of abortion attitudes and public opinion
 - Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as interpersonal and organizational skills
 - Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with diverse stakeholders
 - Fluency in English is required; fluency in Spanish is preferred but not required
 
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in qualitative methodology, including conducting interviews and analyzing interview data
 - Experience in survey development and psychometric assessment
 - Experience in data visualization and statistical software, such as R or SPSS
 - Experience in academic publishing and dissemination of research findings
 - Experience in grant writing and research funding
