About the Role

We're seeking an experienced and dedicated special education teacher with an ESL certification to join our virtual team. As a 1099 contractor, you'll have the flexibility to set your own schedule and work independently from the comfort of your home. You'll provide individualized instruction and support to K-12 students, helping them achieve their full potential in an online learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

As a virtual EL certified special education teacher, your key responsibilities will include:
  • Providing virtual instruction to students with diverse learning needs, ensuring that IEP goals are met.
  • Attending EL meetings biweekly, building-based ILP meetings, documenting services, and creating/maintaining ILPs.
  • Conducting virtual assessments to identify students' strengths and areas for growth.
  • Monitoring and documenting student progress, adjusting instruction as needed to promote success.
  • Collaborating with general education teachers, parents, and administrators to ensure a supportive learning environment for all students.
  • Staying up-to-date on special education regulations and best practices to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you'll need:
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education.
  • An active Michigan Special Education teaching certification (required).
  • Experience developing and implementing IEPs.
  • Prior experience working in a virtual setting is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of special education laws, including IDEA and 504 plans.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • The ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage time effectively.
