Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and experienced ESL Teacher to join our team in a fully virtual setting. As a Virtual K-12 ESL Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of our students and helping them achieve their language learning goals. Responsibilities
- Develop and Deliver Engaging ESL Lessons: Create and implement engaging ESL lessons for K-12 students, incorporating a range of teaching strategies and materials to cater to diverse learning styles and needs.
- Assess Student Progress and Adapt Instruction: Regularly assess student progress, identifying areas of strength and weakness, and adapt instruction to meet individual needs, ensuring that every student receives a tailored learning experience.
- Create a Supportive and Positive Learning Environment: Foster a supportive and positive online classroom environment that encourages student participation, promotes social interaction, and builds a sense of community among students and educators.
- Collaborate with Other Educators and Support Staff: Work collaboratively with other educators and support staff to enhance student learning experiences, share best practices, and develop innovative solutions to challenges.
- Communicate Regularly with Students and Parents: Communicate regularly with students and parents regarding progress, strategies for improvement, and any concerns or issues that may arise, ensuring that everyone is informed and engaged in the learning process.
- Stay Current with ESL Best Practices and Educational Technologies: Stay up-to-date with the latest ESL best practices, research, and educational technologies, incorporating new ideas and approaches into your teaching practice to ensure that students receive the highest quality education.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications:
- Valid Teaching Certification in West Virginia with an ESL Endorsement: Hold a valid teaching certification in West Virginia with an ESL endorsement, demonstrating your expertise in teaching English as a Second Language.
- Experience Teaching ESL to K-12 Students: Have experience teaching ESL to K-12 students, preferably in a virtual setting, showcasing your ability to adapt to diverse learning environments and student needs.
- Strong Understanding of Language Acquisition and Differentiation Strategies: Possess a strong understanding of language acquisition and differentiation strategies, enabling you to create engaging and effective lessons that cater to diverse learning styles and needs.
- Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ensuring that you can effectively interact with students, parents, and colleagues in a virtual environment.
- Proficiency in Using Digital Tools and Platforms for Teaching: Be proficient in using digital tools and platforms for teaching, including online learning management systems, video conferencing tools, and educational software.
Preferred Skills
In addition to the qualifications listed above, we prefer candidates with the following skills:
- Experience with Online Teaching Platforms: Have experience using online teaching platforms, such as Zoom, Google Classroom, or other similar tools, to deliver engaging and effective lessons.
- Familiarity with Curriculum Development and Assessment Tools for ESL: Be familiar with curriculum development and assessment tools for ESL, enabling you to create and implement effective lessons and assessments.
