About the Role: Part-Time PK8/NFSIS Preschool Food Prep Teacher Aide
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Part-Time PK8/NFSIS Preschool Food Prep Teacher Aide to join our dynamic team at the Delta Family Center. Key Responsibilities
- Provide a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment where preschool children can develop their skills across various domains.
- Be accountable for the daily activity, care, and instruction of students, including personal care routines, academic instruction, and positive interactions.
- Interact with parents/caregivers in a positive and communicative manner, including assisting with home visits and parent/teacher conferences.
- Assist in the organization and implementation of approved, research-based curriculum, leading small and large group activities as directed.
- Adhere to licensing rules and regulations, ensuring compliance in all daily activities.
- Fill in for the Lead Teacher during absences and direct substitutes in daily classroom routines.
- Ensure the cafeteria area is cleaned after use and participate in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the classroom.
- Report daily attendance and lunch counts to the front office and monitor children during playground duty, ensuring safety and adherence to rules.
- Assist in classroom cleanup, preparation for next class activities, and with Teaching Strategies GOLD checkpoint documentation.
- Implement the Incredible Years Dinosaur School Social/Emotional Curriculum and seek support through coaching resources as needed.
- Demonstrate cultural competency, respecting each family's background and incorporating their values into the classroom culture.
- Participate in professional development opportunities, quarterly PACT events, and weekly staff meetings.
Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following essential qualifications:
- Be willing to take the WorkKeys test or have 48 hours of college credits.
- Qualify as an Assistant Teacher according to CDHS licensing rules and regulations per the State of Colorado.
- Have experience in a preschool classroom (preferred).
- Ability to work under supervision and be flexible with schedules and job assignments.
- Willingness to attend conferences, trainings, and maintain a High School Diploma/GED and Associate degree or 48 hours of college credit, or have passed the Workkeys test for Highly Qualified status.
- Excellent people skills and a work ethic that exemplifies enthusiasm, teamwork, and self-motivation.
- Ability to lift 40 pounds or more.
- Fingerprint and background clearance required.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are highly preferred:
- Prior experience working in a preschool setting, particularly with curriculum implementation and child development principles.
- Knowledge of licensing rules and regulations for preschool settings in Colorado.
- Experience with the Incredible Years Dinosaur School Social/Emotional Curriculum or similar programs.
- Basic first aid and CPR certification.
- Spanish language proficiency (given the diverse community we serve).
