About the Role: Senior Manager, Privacy Enablement

We are seeking an exceptional Senior Manager to join our Privacy Enablement team, preferably based in San Diego, CA, but open to remote or hybrid work arrangements. This role is crucial in leading and collaborating with our global privacy team on projects outside the North America region, with a primary focus on enabling product management initiatives for our Sleep business in North America. The ideal candidate will be an expert in privacy with a proven leadership record, operating with a problem-solving mindset and a passion for adding value by partnering with business leaders to support customer-centric initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a Privacy Business Partner for North America-based projects across all divisions, providing strategic privacy advice and guidance.
  • Lead global initiatives pertaining to the Sleep & Respiratory Care business, ensuring privacy compliance and risk management.
  • Act as an internal advisor to the business on complex privacy use cases involving HIPAA, CPRA, GDPR, ePrivacy, EU AI regulation, and similar laws.
  • Lead a team of experienced privacy professionals to deliver high-quality privacy advice and support.
  • Join the Privacy Enablement leadership team and contribute to executing the vision for Privacy at ResMed.
  • Partner with the business to implement and operationalize privacy by design principles on cutting-edge digital technology topics.
  • Consult, support, and advise the business by creating Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), risk assessments, negotiating Data Processing Agreements (DPAs), and reporting on privacy risk and compliance.
  • Update privacy notices, internal privacy policies, and related documentation to ensure compliance and transparency.
  • Establish and enhance effective and efficient privacy services, driving operational efficiencies across intersecting processes and teams.
  • Collaborate across privacy teams in other regions, as well as with the Information Security Team, Legal, Compliance, Data Governance, Government Affairs, Regulatory, and Procurement teams to streamline compliance processes.
  • Serve as an escalation point to assist with external privacy inquiries from sales, marketing groups, customers, devices, and ResMed's apps users.

Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • 5-10 years of experience in privacy within digital health solutions, information technology, risk management, and/or compliance.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Law, Computer Science, or a related discipline. A JD is preferred.
  • Privacy certifications such as CIPP/E/US, CIPM, and/or CHPC are preferred, with evidence of continuing professional development in privacy.
  • A solid understanding of privacy laws (e.g., CCPA/CPRA, HIPAA, GDPR, ePrivacy, etc.).
  • Experience in managing high-performing teams and driving privacy by design in areas such as app and mobile application use, biometrics, and data analytics.
  • Experience working in highly regulated and/or audited environments, with a focus on operational application of privacy law.
  • Strong leadership, execution, collaboration, and management skills, with the ability to exert influence at all organization levels.
  • Exceptional business judgment, with the ability to think strategically and give practical advice by balancing business needs with privacy and legal risks.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to work well with a diverse client base with diverse cultural backgrounds.

  • Strong analytical and problem-resolution skills.
  • Cultural savvy, self-awareness, curiosity, agility, and the ability to work well under ambiguity and changing business environments.
  • Technically savvy, with experience using tools such as OneTrust, JIRA, Asana, MS Teams, Slack, and/or related technologies.
  • Lean Six Sigma belts or similar training, with a focus on process improvement.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits

ResMed offers a competitive salary range for this role, with a reasonable estimate of $160,000-$240,000 per year, depending on the candidate's geographic work location, relevant qualifications, work experience, and skills.
