Job Overview and Responsibilities

As a Warehouse Shipping Associate at Petco, you will play a critical role in ensuring the timely delivery of merchandise to our customers. Your primary focus will be on expertly coordinating the receipt, transfer, and replenishment of warehouse inventory to efficiently prepare PETCO merchandise for delivery. You will be responsible for:

• Handling forklift equipment, such as pallet jacks, stand-up lifts, and turret trucks, for efficient operation
• Frequently transporting merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds by repeatedly lifting them
• Scanning barcodes of items using a handheld computer
• Utilizing a computerized pick-module system to manage inventory
• Maintaining a safe working environment and adhering to safety protocols at all times

Essential Qualifications and Skills

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

• Ability to lift, carry, and bend frequently, with weights up to 50 pounds
• Proficiency in operating forklift equipment and handling merchandise
• Basic computer skills and ability to use a handheld computer and computerized pick-module system
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

Work Environment and Schedule

The standard work schedule for this role is Monday to Friday, with a start time of 4:00 am and ending at 2:30 pm. Additional hours may be required as needed. You will be working in a warehouse environment, which may involve exposure to heat, cold, dust, dirt, fumes, and noise. You must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be willing to adapt to changing situations.
