Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of assigned accounts and maintain full accountability for sustaining and growing each account.
  • Visit accounts regularly, with quarterly travel to the New York showroom and travel to Los Angeles headquarters as needed.
  • Develop merchandise assortments and strategies for growth, identifying voids to fill for existing accounts and making recommendations for new product development.
  • Participate in product development as it relates to assigned accounts, making recommendations specific to each account regarding product, packaging, pricing, and retail floor placement.
  • Stay up-to-date with knowledge of jewelry market trends and competitive strategies, using this information to inform sales strategies and drive business growth.
  • Review selling reports regularly, discussing results with buyers and making recommendations for improvement.
  • Work closely with the operations department to place new orders, staying involved in the process until shipment.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Experience working with national or regional retail department stores, as well as the specialty sales channel or ecommerce marketplaces.
  • A strong understanding of retail math, including gross margins, mark-ups, inventory turns, and sell-thru.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to organize and analyze raw data.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with retail partners.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience establishing relationships with retailers or vendors, with a proven track record of driving sales growth and expanding market share.
