The Vice President, Chief Compliance Officer will play a critical role in overseeing and directing our compliance program, ensuring adherence to a broad range of laws, rules, and regulations pertaining to banking compliance, including BSA/AML. Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the administration, oversight, and direction of our compliance program, which includes:

  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining compliance processes consistent with OCC, CFPB, FDIC, and other federal and state law and regulatory requirements
  • Partnering with the enterprise AML team to manage day-to-day AML work and collaborating with Surveillance, Analytics, Investigations, and Fraud teams within the broader Compliance department
  • Reporting quarterly to the Audit Committee of the Bank and management-level Compliance Committee on compliance plans and efforts, regulatory changes, and their anticipated impact
  • Providing recommendations to strengthen the overall compliance program and ensuring compliance with consumer compliance obligations, such as the Community Reinvestment Act and Fair Lending rules
  • Maintaining and enhancing compliance processes to ensure adherence to the USA PATRIOT Act, Bank Secrecy Act, and Privacy Act
  • Leading and influencing effectively across a matrix organization, with excellent oral and written communications skills

Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent, with 10+ years of relevant experience in consumer banking, preferably within an Industrial Charter Bank
  • Strong knowledge of consumer banking regulations and direct experience leading elements of a financial services company compliance program
  • Understanding of banking systems and processes, with leadership experience and the ability to influence decisions
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills, with the ability to lead and influence effectively across a matrix organization

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred candidates will have:

  • A JD or other advanced degree, with a broad understanding of various financial services companies
  • Background in banking activities sold or serviced through broker-dealers, with professional accreditation such as a Certified Community Banking Compliance Officer (CCBCO), Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), or other
  • Experience in Utah Industrial Bank compliance, with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements and industry trends
