Job Overview and Responsibilities
This role is a member of the Engineering team within the Integrated Operations department. As a virtual airline professional, you will be responsible for providing engineering support for the maintenance and operation of aircraft and associated equipment. This role also establishes and assists in maintaining aircraft and component standards within areas of responsibility. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting training for engineers in region(s) of expertise
 - Serving as a mentor to other engineers
 - Serving as a team leader/coordinator in the direction of project management or problem resolution
 - Coordinating with manufacturers and regulatory authorities, as required, and ensuring that engineering dispositions are well-substantiated according to relevant regulations and company manuals
 - Developing customized processes and special standards for maintenance, modifications, inspections, servicing, and other safety movements that are not adequately addressed in current manuals
 - Continuing knowledge of routine airline operations related to the subject of responsibility
 - Assessing daily priorities according to airline/departmental goals and management directives
 - Investigating aircraft/component problems that may motivate aircraft delays or cancellations, great costs in manpower or materials, or interruptions in safety operations, and determining appropriate corrective actions
 - Providing engineering support as required for disposition of discrepant conditions affecting aircraft or components so that it will restore serviceable status
 - Responding to requests from maintenance and other airline departments when technical assistance is required to aid projects or solve problems
 - Developing action plans for fleet/multi-fleet and/or component engineering projects and pursuing final dispositions according to assessed priorities
 - Coordinating with other airline departments, as required, to provide for effective and efficient implementation of engineering inclinations
 - Preparing engineering documents to implement technical dispositions by providing customized procedures for maintenance, changes, inspections, or other maintenance movements that provide benefits according to airline/departmental goals and management directives
 - Keeping expertise in current and pending regulations, which affect areas of duty and ensuring that all engineering activities maintain compliance with relevant regulatory requirements
 - Using available resources to increase levels of technical knowledge and practical experience, and striving to improve communication skills, time management, and other personal attributes pertinent to most effectiveness and performance in performing assigned duties
 - Actively engaging with front-line team members and leadership equally
 
Essential Qualifications and Skills
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree in an Engineering subject or related Engineering license
 - 4 years of engineering experience in an associated field or 4 years of experience without a degree
 - Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
 - Potential to learn technical information and make data-driven decisions
 - Demonstrates flair, ability, and willingness to take on new roles and responsibilities
 - Ability to prepare/present presentations that compel acceptance of solutions
 - Ability to effectively interact with internal and external clients
 
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
While not essential, the following qualifications and skills are preferred:
- A Master's Degree in Engineering
 - An A&P license
 - Experience in the aviation industry
 - Knowledge of aircraft systems and operations
 - Experience with project management and problem resolution
