We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Virtual School Program Director to lead our virtual program staff in ensuring academic success, care, and a strong sense of belonging for students enrolled in our virtual learning program. Role Overview

We are currently seeking a Virtual School Program Director to lead our virtual program staff in ensuring academic success, care, and a strong sense of belonging for students enrolled in our virtual learning program. In this role, you will oversee both instructional delivery and school culture within the online learning environment. Responsibilities include shaping the program, establishing supportive systems and structures, and fostering engagement and support for staff, students, and families. Flexibility is key as we navigate changing enrollment dynamics and evolving COVID-related conditions and policies. This position reports to a member of the CAO Team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set Academic Vision And Goals: Define the vision for the virtual program and mobilize staff towards achieving academic goals. Lead the development and alignment of program-wide academic goals. Identify and address equity challenges within the school community. Ensure alignment of virtual academic content with in-person school experiences.
  • Plan And Prioritize: Develop and monitor the program's academic and cultural plans, including actionable steps to achieve goals. Establish and track program goals and benchmarks. Manage the program schedule to meet academic and social-emotional learning goals.
  • Manage And Develop Staff: Foster collaboration and professional growth among staff members. Provide effective management and support for staff across various skill and experience levels.
  • Lead School Culture: Cultivate a culture of excellence and equity for students and staff. Develop inclusive support systems. Manage virtual school day operations and family engagement practices.
  • Hire And Retain Highly Effective Staff: Ensure teachers feel valued, supported, and engaged. Implement retention strategies to retain effective educators.
  • Build Content Knowledge: Develop deep expertise in academic standards, curriculum, and assessments. Engage in ongoing learning related to curriculum, pedagogy, and leadership.
  • Develop And Coach Learning Coordinators And Content Creators: Lead data-driven instruction and provide high-quality instructional coaching.
  • Model Personal Leadership Traits: Demonstrate personal leadership traits and a commitment to the organization's mission and vision.
  • Manage Administrative Functions: Ensure compliance with regulations and ethical practices. Manage fiscal responsibilities and collaborate with headquarters staff as needed.

Qualifications

We are seeking a candidate with the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree: Required.
  • Minimum of five years of school leadership experience: Required.
  • Demonstrated academic results and leadership experience: Required.
  • Experience teaching core subjects: Preferred.
  • Experience with virtual learning and staff development: Preferred.
