Work Synopsis
This role is designed for individuals who are passionate about applying their specialized skills in a highly controlled environment. Responsibilities include driving the development and execution of compliance checking programs, managing risk assessments, and utilizing business intelligence tools like Business Objects, Cognos, Tableau, and Excel for data analysis. The position requires expertise in data extraction, mining, and management, alongside a strong understanding of statistical concepts and SQL query skills. It offers a unique blend of technical data analysis and compliance management, addressing both pharmacy and front-end guidelines at Walgreens, ensuring adherence to all relevant regulations and standards across the entire scope of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute compliance risk assessments of business activities for allocated areas of responsibility.
- Lead the development of risk-based compliance checking work plans and procedures.
- Plan and execute compliance monitoring data analysis as directed by the Compliance Checking Examination Manager.
- Investigate and report monitoring results.
- Plan reports of monitoring results and provide reports to business leaders to use in mitigating potential compliance risks.
- Prepare and design reports of checking activities, results, and related remedial action plans (CAPs).
- Assist in the development of audit plans and procedures.
- Assist in the development of audit reports and provide recommendations for improvement.
Essential Capabilities
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential capabilities:
- Four-year degree and at least 2 years of experience in a compliance checking or auditing capacity (e.g., internal audit, compliance monitoring) OR a High School Diploma/GED and no less than 5 years of experience in a compliance checking or auditing capacity (e.g., internal audit, compliance monitoring).
- At least 2 years of experience creating metrics, analyzing data, and converting it into information that can be used to identify potential risk areas or patterns.
- Experience working with data analytics tools and processes.
- At least 1 year of direct management, indirect management, or cross-functional team leadership experience.
Preferred Capabilities
While not required, the following preferred capabilities will make you a strong candidate for this role:
- At least 5 years of experience in a compliance checking or auditing capacity.
- Experience with regulatory compliance requirements related to retail pharmacy and healthcare provider industries.
- Experience working with sensitive or highly confidential data.
- Experience creating and delivering presentations to various audience levels within the organization.
- Proficiency in using business intelligence software for data analysis, such as Business Objects, Cognos, Tableau, and Excel.
- Ability to extract and mine data, as well as expertise in data acquisition, profiling, managing data warehouses, and understanding statistical concepts like regression, data science, and AI.
- High-level skills in creating and resolving SQL queries for large-scale database management.
