Job Summary

We're looking for a highly motivated and organized Distribution Center Supervisor to oversee and plan activities for our assigned functional area. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for monitoring daily efficiency and productivity, ensuring accurate and reliable inventory management, and coaching and developing our team members to achieve their full potential. Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and plan activities for assigned functional area, including monitoring daily efficiency and productivity, and ensuring accurate and reliable inventory management.
  • Coach and develop team members to achieve their full potential, including providing hands-on training, conducting regular performance evaluations, and implementing disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Conduct regular MBWA (Management by Walking Around) to ensure colleague safety, address colleague concerns, convey essential information, and uphold Distribution Center rules.
  • Lay out and develop confidence and commitment of colleagues, encouraging colleague engagement in work environment activities and events.
  • Enter daily performance figures into the DC efficiency/proficiency report, and use and update framework PC applications for appropriate activity and reports.
  • Guarantee consistency with all Focuses of Greatness SOP's for each relevant functional area.
  • Advocate and actively participate in continuous improvement culture, especially LEAN drives to improve processes and drive out waste.
  • Collaborate with management to measure performance consistency and requirements, and coordinate fitting activities by colleagues and equipment to maintain performance at or above required levels.
  • Maintain accurate and required records for colleagues, equipment, and KPI's under their responsibility.
  • Participate in managerial exercises, including defining asset needs and working within budget and staffing constraints to meet business goals.
  • Participate in colleague concerns, including reporting, follow-up, examination, or disciplinary cycle.
  • Advocate for a safe work environment, as well as meet safety requirements, conforming to company policies and guidelines set out by Walgreens and other government organizations concerning safety, environmental treatment of products, packaging, and other related matters.

Essential Capabilities

We're looking for a candidate with the following essential capabilities:

  • At least 3 years of experience assisting management with the task of work and responsibilities to colleagues, as well as other administrative tasks (e.g., observing work, gauging participation, etc.).
  • Experience using Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to work any shift.
  • Experience in recognizing functional issues, suggesting, and implementing methodologies to resolve issues.
  • Experience building and maintaining relationships within a team.

Favored Capabilities

We're also looking for a candidate with the following favored capabilities:

  • Four-year college education and at least 3 years of experience working in a distribution center/production environment.
  • Experience in indirect management of colleagues, including training, coaching, aiding the development, preparing, and tasking of work/ventures to other colleagues.
  • Middle to Advanced experience using Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience working with SPC following, AS400, Sort View, or ISS.
  • Experience in distribution, warehousing, or planned operations.
  • Experience examining functional reports.
  • Experience in LEAN manufacturing or planned operations environment.
