Job Responsibilities

  • Identifying and analyzing data to support a wide range of ERM and risk evaluation objectives, compliance requirements, and issue awareness areas.
  • Collecting and processing data from disparate information systems across Walmart's US and global businesses, designing dashboards to assist stakeholders in scoping risk and assessing the maturity of associated controls, and building custom reports as needed.
  • Applying expertise in analytics techniques and tools to develop defensible and consistent methodologies for assessing risk, drawing insights and correlations from data, and communicating findings to compliance professionals, attorneys, and business leaders.
  • Providing input on new and emerging risk areas using data-driven analysis, soliciting feedback, and supporting continuous development of ERM and risk evaluation processes.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as data analytics, computer science, or a related discipline.
  • Deep SQL knowledge and proficiency in tools like Power BI, Tableau, Tableau Prep, BigQuery, PowerApps, and Dataiku.
  • Experience working on legal, compliance, ERM, or risk evaluation matters, with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to generate impactful visualizations and use data to "tell a story" to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in coding languages like R or Python, with a strong analytical mindset and a passion for learning new things.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

  • Advanced degree in a relevant field, such as a Master's degree in data analytics or a related discipline.
  • Professional certifications, such as Certified Data Analyst (CDA) or Certified Analytics Professional (CAP).
  • Experience working in a remote or distributed team environment, with a strong ability to self-motivate and manage priorities in a fast-paced setting.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms, such as AWS or Azure, and experience with data governance and data quality initiatives.
