Job Summary
In this dynamic and challenging role, you will be responsible for providing technical support for the design and execution of a wide range of events, including setting up and operating video equipment, troubleshooting technical issues, and collaborating with the video team to ensure the success of our events. Your expertise in video production, combined with your strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, will make you an invaluable asset to our team.
Key Responsibilities
- Adjust video levels, black/white balance, and color balance between all cameras to ensure a consistent and high-quality video feed.
- Paint and shade cameras to achieve the desired visual effect, and screen, investigate, and maintain the technical aspects of our remote events.
- Provide technical engineering support in the preparation, planning, and execution of a wide variety of events, including setting up and operating video equipment, and troubleshooting technical issues as they arise.
- Collaborate with the video team to put up screens for talent and the show, and work with the team to resolve any video issues that may arise during events.
- Investigate and resolve any video issues, including camera, cabling, lens, and other technical problems, using your strong technical skills and knowledge of video production equipment.
- Manage and organize remote compound video, fiber link, and source list, and arrange, plan, and develop workflows with the support of Events and Production partners.
- Set up, operate, and strike down video equipment on-site as needed, and travel to events as required, including Saturdays and Sundays.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- Practical experience in remote production operations at a network level in a video role, with a strong understanding of the technical aspects of live production equipment.
- Proficiency in reading and operating a waveform/vectorscope (including SDI and IP, HD, UHD, and HDR), and the ability to manage overall camera look and shading requirements.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to use technical insight and solid technical tools to identify and resolve issues.
- The ability to work flexibly, including traveling to events and working on Saturdays and Sundays as required.
Preferred Qualifications
While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
- Demonstrated knowledge of broadcast equipment and remote production show needs, with experience working with fiber optic systems and cabling.
- Experience working with transmission trucks, fly packs, and fiber units, and knowledge of system design and building, and on-site integration and setup.
- Familiarity with digital video compression and transmission standards, computer networking, Master Control facilities, and core and network storage systems.
