Job Highlights and Overview
We are currently seeking an experienced and skilled Cloud Data Engineer to join our Information Foundation and Information Enablement team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in scaling, supporting, and designing our database, distributed analytics, and streaming framework. Key Responsibilities and Expectations
- Design, develop, and maintain large-scale data systems and cloud infrastructure, with a focus on scalability, reliability, and performance
- Write clean, efficient, and well-tested code, with an emphasis on reusability and modularity (using languages such as Python, Terraform, and Packer)
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of 6-8 engineers, guiding them in their professional development and ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions
- Act as a technical expert and troubleshooter, resolving complex issues and providing guidance on system performance and throughput expectations
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation, ensuring that all systems and processes are well-documented and easily accessible
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including development, operations, and product management, to ensure the successful delivery of projects and initiatives
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, applying this knowledge to continuously improve our data systems and cloud infrastructure
Essential Qualifications and Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant industry experience in DevOps or cloud data engineering, with a focus on designing and deploying scalable and reliable systems
- Experience working in a cloud-based environment, with expertise in cloud providers such as GCP, AWS, or Azure
- Strong programming skills, with proficiency in languages such as Python, Java, or C++
- Experience with data processing and analytics tools, including Apache Beam, Apache Spark, and Google Cloud Dataflow
- Knowledge of cloud-based data storage solutions, including Cloud SQL, Firestore, and BigQuery
- Experience with containerization and orchestration tools, such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Strong understanding of software development principles, including agile methodologies and version control systems

- Experience with machine learning and artificial intelligence, including TensorFlow and scikit-learn
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices, including security frameworks and compliance regulations
