Job Overview
We are looking for an accomplished technical lead to possess the specialized procedure and execution of Wayfair's Worldwide Dependability, Installments, Supporting, and Misrepresentation stage and encounters across all of our retail marks (Wayfair, Perigold, AllModern, Joss and Primary, Birch Path) and geologies (presently 5 nations and, developing to 15+ throughout the following couple of years). The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the technical strategy and development of our payments platform, ensuring seamless integration with various systems, and providing expert technical leadership to our cross-functional team.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the technical lead in the payments space, designing and building a platform that interfaces with a wide range of systems inside and outside Wayfair and partner globally
 - Play a critical role in creating and driving a long-term technology strategy for Wayfair's Fintech and Loyalty environment
 - Engineer and review code to implement high-grade, flexible, future-proof services that will have powerful system limits and will support long-term vision and strategy
 - Direct technical dialogue across a whole platform and help arrive at tough recorded resolutions
 - Drive high-impact architectural solutions and involved improvement, including beginning, plan, execution, and conveyance following great plan and coding practices
 - Fanatically focus on production status for the group including testing, monitoring, sending, documentation, and proactive troubleshooting
 - Identify risks and gaps in technical approaches and propose answers to meet the office's technical vision
 - Impact and contribute to the division's strategy and guide
 - Support the growth of different engineers by mentoring, pairing, and creating different opportunities for training
 - Be remotely recognized as a collaborative and trustworthy informed authority for the wider group's core area
 
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- 4+ years of experience in engineering, with a preference for candidates with a mix of start-up and large organization experience
 - Strong technical skills, including experience with cloud-based technologies, distributed systems, and data-driven technologies
 - Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and drive technical decisions
 - Experience with payments engineering, particularly with larger scope integrations (credit cards, funding, BNPL, applications)
 - Experience with e-commerce or client-facing technology on a high-traffic website is a significant plus
 
Preferred Qualifications
While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
- Experience with fintech, loyalty, and payments platforms
 - Knowledge of cloud-native technologies (GCP, AWS, Azure) at scale
 - Distributed systems experience
 - Data-driven technologies in the cloud
 - Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems (e.g., Git)
