Job Overview
As a Customer Service Representative (Student Loan Advisor) at blithequark, you will play a vital role in providing top-notch support to our customers. Your primary responsibilities will include taking incoming calls, using chat, and making outbound calls as necessary to address customer inquiries, provide detailed information, process applications, and resolve any emerging issues that our customer accounts may face. You will be required to practice active listening, be empathetic, and communicate clearly with customers in a positive and professional manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize standard technology such as a telephone, email, and web browser to interact with customers and resolve their queries.
- Navigate to pre-scripted responses to provide basic general and claims-specific information to customers.
- Follow established and documented policies and standard operating procedures, including working within various systems, timekeeping, documentation of calls, and adhering to ethics and privacy rules.
- Assist callers with filling out their applications and submitting them electronically to plan providers for processing.
- Complete basic call logs, documentation, and related call details for each phone inquiry.
Requirements and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to speak and read English clearly, professionally, and fluently.
- Minimum typing speed of 35 words per minute.
- Experience working with a personal computer and the Windows operating system.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong computer skills with proficiencies in Excel and Word.
- Excellent command of the English language, effective use of grammar skills, and excellent communication etiquette.
Preferred Skills:
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Ability to multi-task and stay organized while completing simultaneous tasks.
- Experience working in a contact center environment.
- Knowledge of contact center technology.

Work Schedule and Work-from-Home Opportunity
The schedule for this role is as follows:
- Monday: 11:45am-8:15pm
- Tuesday: 10:45am-7:15pm
- Wednesday: 10:45am-7:15pm
- Thursday: 8:45am-5:15pm
- Friday: 8:45am-5:15pm
After 90 days of employment, you may be eligible to work from home, provided you meet the following conditions:
- Good standing with attendance.
- Compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Satisfactory performance.
Please note that working from home is a privilege and not a right. You must maintain good working statistics and adhere to company policies to continue working from home. Failure to do so may result in the revocation of work-from-home privileges, and you will be required to work in the office.
