Job Overview

We are excited to announce upcoming opportunities for Remote Customer Service Representatives in the Ohio and Pennsylvania areas. As a Remote Customer Service Representative at blithequark, you will have the opportunity to work from the comfort of your own home, providing top-notch customer service to our valued customers. You will be responsible for responding to a wide range of customer inquiries, resolving complex issues, and providing solutions to our customers' problems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Processing billing calls: investigating meter read and other requests relating to billing accuracy or payment
  • Handling emergency calls and providing timely solutions
  • Processing customer move-ins, adds, and transfers
  • Processing refunds, compensation requests, and changes to accounts
  • Routing escalated customer issues for resolution
  • Making referrals and processing requests regarding special programs such as Energy Assistance, CRISIS, Dollar Energy, or other programs, as necessary
  • Processing order inquiry calls, initiating service orders, and providing service order status updates
  • Assisting customers with credit/payment arrangements
  • Directing customers to the appropriate self-service channels as necessary
  • Meeting individual deadlines, metrics, and team goals
  • Multitasking while effectively focusing on priority issues
  • Working cooperatively in a group environment to achieve common goals

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One (1) year of customer service experience
  • Computer skills, including navigating multiple tabs, windows, and systems
  • Ability to type a minimum of 25 WPM (Word Per Minute)
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • For bilingual candidates: must take bilingual aptitude test (Spanish), must possess solid written skills in English and Spanish, and must speak fluent English and Spanish
  • Must be 18 years of age or older

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following preferred qualifications will make you a more competitive candidate:

  • 2-3 years of call center and/or customer service experience
  • 2-5 years of previous customer service work-from-home experience
  • Utility experience
  • Advanced computer skills, including navigating multiple tabs, windows, and systems
  • Ability to type 60-65 WPM (Words Per Minute)

Living Requirements

To be eligible for this role, you must reside within 80 miles or less from one of the blithequark facilities located in Ohio or Pennsylvania.

Work-from-Home Office Requirements

To ensure that you can provide the best possible customer service, you will need to meet the following work-from-home office requirements:

  • High-speed wired internet access (75mpbs download and 15mpbs upload) that is hardwired – no Wi-Fi or satellite internet
  • A secure, private location with a non-disruptive work environment from others in the household
  • Proper, ergonomic office equipment (computer desk and computer chair) and setup
  • A smartphone to download a VPN app on your personal device
  • Availability from 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. and ability to attend 100% of the 13-week training program

You must be authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship.

Salary Range and Benefits

The salary range for this role is $33,400.00 - $46,800.00 per year, with a starting pay of $21.00 per hour for traditional CSR roles and $22.20 per hour for bilingual CSR roles.
