**Why You'll Love This Job**
This role is part of the Engineering Group within the Operations Division at blithequark. As a Senior Engineer, you'll be responsible for providing technical support to the maintenance and operation of aircraft and related equipment. You'll also be involved in establishing and maintaining aircraft and part standards within areas of responsibility.
**What You'll Do**
* Conduct training for Specialists in areas of expertise
* Serve as a mentor to other Engineers
* Lead or facilitate project management or issue resolution as a group leader
* Collaborate with manufacturers and regulatory specialists, as needed, to ensure that engineering practices are properly validated according to applicable regulations and company manuals
* Develop customized methods and special procedures for repairs, modifications, inspections, adjustments, and other maintenance activities that are not adequately addressed in existing manuals
* Stay informed about daily airline activities, including areas of responsibility, and review daily needs according to airline/departmental targets and management mandates
* Investigate aircraft/part issues that may cause flight delays or cancellations, significant uses in labor or materials, or breaks in maintenance activities, and determine appropriate corrective actions
* Provide engineering support as needed to restore operational status
* Respond to requests from Maintenance and other airline divisions when technical support is required to assist with tasks or resolve issues
* Develop activity plans for fleet/multi-fleet and part engineering projects and pursue completion according to evaluated needs
* Collaborate with other airline divisions, as needed, to ensure effective and efficient execution of engineering practices
* Develop engineering records to implement technical practices by providing customized methods for repairs, modifications, inspections, or other maintenance activities that provide benefits according to airline/departmental targets and management mandates
* Maintain knowledge of current and upcoming regulations that affect areas of responsibility and ensure that all engineering activities maintain compliance with applicable regulatory requirements
* Utilize available resources to enhance levels of technical expertise and practical experience continuously. Also, strive to improve communication skills, time management, and other individual characteristics relevant to maximum effectiveness and efficiency in performing assigned duties
* Effectively interact with colleagues and management alike
**All You'll Need for Success**
* Minimum Qualifications:
+ Training and prior professional experience
+ Four-year degree in Engineering or related Engineering license
+ One year of engineering experience in a related field or two years of experience without a degree
* Abilities, Licenses, and Certifications:
+ A&P license
+ Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
+ Ability to analyze technical information and make data-driven decisions
+ Demonstrated fitness, ability, and willingness to take on new roles and responsibilities
+ Ability to prepare/present presentations that promote acceptance of proposals
+ Ability to interact effectively with internal and external clients
