As a key member of our product management team, you'll play a critical role in designing, developing, and managing activities for a product or group of products from product definition and planning through production, release, and end of life. You'll partner with stakeholder teams on enhancing and refining product strategies and roadmaps, serving as the central resource with design, process, development, test, quality, and marketing throughout all stages of a product's lifecycle. **Key Responsibilities** * Assist in developing the business case for new products or features * Assist in the research of regulatory developments and provide preliminary input on analysis of potential implications to existing products * Support the documentation of as-is processes for product management, product enhancements, key findings, and standard methodologies * Support the creation and maintenance of the product backlog, prioritizing features and establishing timelines for product releases * Partner closely with analytics teams to provide input and prioritize analytics requests * Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product, Technology, and other adjacent stakeholders, to gather and document product requirements and ensure timely delivery of product features, following agile development methodologies * Assist in the identification of technical gaps and collaborate with broader teams to facilitate resolution of risks, opportunities, and changes tied to product management initiatives and processes * Maintain core critical metrics and understand competitive and internal positioning for their product or product line through internal and external market research * Use analytical abilities and strategic perspective to identify trends and recommend solutions that will help improve the user experience **Essential Qualifications** * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field * 2+ years of experience in product management, preferably in a digital product development environment * Proven track record of success in product development, with a focus on agile methodologies and feature prioritization * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify trends and recommend solutions * Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams * Strong understanding of market analysis and competitive positioning * Experience with product road mapping, requirements management, and structured problem-solving **Preferred Qualifications** * Master's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field * 4+ years of experience in product management, preferably in a digital product development environment * Experience with agile development methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban * Strong understanding of cloud-based technologies and infrastructure * Experience with data analysis and visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI * Certification in product management, such as the Certified Product Manager (CPM) or the Product Management Certification (PMC) **Skills and Competencies** * Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban * Feature prioritization and product road mapping * Market analysis and competitive positioning * Requirements management and structured problem-solving * Data analysis and visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI * Cloud-based technologies and infrastructure * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills * Excellent communication and collaboration skills * Strong understanding of product development lifecycles and processes **Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits** At American Express, we're committed to helping our colleagues grow and develop their careers.
