Why Join Our Visionary Healthcare Technology Team?

At WI Residents, we are more than a staffing partner – we are the catalyst that connects top‑tier healthcare technology talent with groundbreaking projects that shape the future of patient care. Our client, CapB InfoteK LLC, is a nationally recognized leader in delivering end‑to‑end electronic medical record (EMR) solutions, leveraging the power of Cerner and Oracle platforms to streamline clinical workflows, improve data fidelity, and ensure compliance in a highly regulated environment. As a remote Business Analyst, you will collaborate with a diverse, cross‑functional team of clinicians, developers, and product managers to translate complex healthcare requirements into actionable technical specifications that drive real‑world outcomes.

Position Overview

This full‑time or part‑time remote role is open immediately to qualified Wisconsin residents. You will serve as the bridge between the business side of healthcare delivery and the technical teams responsible for configuring, testing, and enhancing Cerner and Oracle EMR/EHR solutions. Your expertise will help organizations maintain HIPAA compliance, optimize scheduling and registration processes, and deliver high‑impact reporting dashboards that empower decision makers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Requirement Gathering & Documentation: Conduct detailed interviews with clinical and administrative stakeholders to capture functional and non‑functional requirements for scheduling, registration, HIM, pharmacy, lab, and nursing workflows.
  • Process Mapping: Translate complex healthcare processes into clear, Visio‑based flow diagrams, ensuring every step is accurately represented for developers and quality‑assurance teams.
  • Change Management: Lead change‑management initiatives, including impact analysis, communication planning, and training material creation to ensure seamless adoption of system enhancements.
  • Vendor Release Coordination: Track Cerner and Oracle release cycles, manage tickets, and coordinate with vendor support teams to resolve bugs and implement patches on schedule.
  • Integration Identification: Identify and document integration points between EMR modules, third‑party applications, and legacy systems, providing clear specifications for developers.
  • Dashboard & Reporting Maintenance: Build, maintain, and enhance static and interactive reports using Discern Reporting Portal, Business Objects, and custom SQL/PL‑SQL scripts.
  • Testing & Quality Assurance: Design and execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT) plans, perform regression testing, and document test results with an eye for detail and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with cross‑functional teams—including clinicians, IT architects, project managers, and vendors—to ensure alignment on project goals.
  • Continuous Improvement: Recommend process improvements based on data analysis, user feedback, and industry best practices, driving efficiency and reducing operational bottlenecks.

Essential Qualifications

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field, coupled with a minimum of 3 years of hands‑on experience as a Business Analyst for Cerner or Oracle EMR/EHR platforms.
  • Domain Knowledge: Proven understanding of scheduling, registration, Health Information Management (HIM), pharmacy, laboratory, and nursing workflows within a HIPAA‑regulated environment.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and Cerner CCL coding, as well as experience creating reports in Discern Reporting Portal and Business Objects.
  • Process Documentation: Demonstrated ability to produce high‑quality Visio flow diagrams, business requirement documents (BRDs), and functional specifications.
  • Testing Expertise: Strong background in UAT, regression testing, and test case development, with a focus on ensuring compliance and data integrity.
  • Communication Excellence: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting complex technical concepts to non‑technical audiences and facilitating stakeholder consensus.

Preferred Qualifications & Added Value

  • Experience with JIRA or similar agile project‑management tools.
  • Certification in Cerner, Oracle, or related healthcare IT platforms (e.g., Cerner CCL Programmer, Oracle Health Sciences).
  • Knowledge of additional reporting tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Familiarity with ITIL or other IT service management frameworks.
  • Previous experience working on remote, distributed teams with a self‑directed work style.

Core Competencies for Success

  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to dissect complex clinical processes, identify root causes, and propose pragmatic technology solutions.
  • Problem Solving: Proactive in anticipating issues and delivering innovative fixes before they impact end users.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable navigating fast‑changing regulatory landscapes and evolving product roadmaps.
  • Collaboration: Skilled at building trust across multidisciplinary teams and fostering a culture of shared accountability.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous in documentation, testing, and data validation to uphold the highest standards of patient safety.

  • Pathways to Leadership: Demonstrated performance can lead to senior analyst, product owner, or project manager roles within the organization.
