About American Woodmark – Crafting Quality Kitchen & Bath Solutions

American Woodmark has been a trusted name in the kitchen and bath industry for over 30 years, delivering premium cabinetry and innovative storage solutions to homeowners, designers, and professional contractors nationwide. Our commitment to craftsmanship, sustainability, and customer‑centric design has earned us a reputation as a market leader. As we continue to expand our reach, especially through strategic partnerships with retail giants such as Home Depot, we are looking for visionary talent to drive the next phase of growth. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a forward‑thinking organization that values creativity, collaboration, and continuous learning.

Why This Role Matters – The Strategic Impact of a Channel Manager

The Channel Manager, Home Depot MTO/PRO, is a pivotal leadership position responsible for shaping the entire product lifecycle within the Home Depot Make‑to‑Order (MTO) and Professional (PRO) segments. From ideation to market launch, pricing, merchandising, and eventual product discontinuance, you will own the end‑to‑end strategy that aligns product innovation with market demand. Your work will directly influence revenue growth, brand perception, and the customer experience across one of the most influential retail channels in the United States.

Key Responsibilities – Your Day‑to‑Day Impact

  • Strategic Planning & Execution: Develop, own, and execute comprehensive marketing and channel strategies for the Home Depot MTO/PRO segment, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and market trends.
  • Product Lifecycle Management: Lead the entire product life cycle—including introductions, enhancements, and phase‑outs—by collaborating with product development, engineering, and supply‑chain teams.
  • Pricing & Competitive Positioning: Design and implement pricing models that balance profitability with competitive positioning, conducting ongoing price‑elasticity and margin analysis.
  • Cross‑Functional Leadership: Facilitate and lead cross‑functional teams—including sales, finance, product management, and design—to ensure seamless product launches and continuous improvement.
  • Channel‑Specific Merchandising: Create and execute channel‑focused merchandising plans, driving the production of marketing assets, packaging designs, and in‑store displays that reinforce brand voice.
  • Market Intelligence & Analysis: Conduct deep‑dive market research, trend forecasting, and competitive analysis; translate insights into actionable strategies and performance metrics.
  • Agency & Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external agencies and vendors, overseeing creative development, media planning, and process efficiencies.
  • Sales Enablement & Training: Develop training programs, sales tools, and communication plans to empower Home Depot sales teams and professional installers with product knowledge and brand storytelling.
  • Performance Tracking & Reporting: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs), generate regular performance dashboards, and present findings to senior leadership.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Supervise and mentor Associate Channel Managers, fostering a high‑performing, collaborative team culture.

Essential Qualifications – What You Must Bring

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in marketing, sales, business development, project or product management—preferably within retail or consumer‑goods environments.
  • Demonstrated success leading cross‑functional teams and managing complex, multi‑phase projects.
  • Advanced planning, organization, and project‑management capabilities, with a track record of delivering on time and within budget.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, including the ability to craft compelling business presentations, launch videos, and executive briefings.
  • Strong analytical mindset with proven ability to interpret data, conduct financial modeling, and make data‑driven recommendations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and familiarity with marketing technology platforms (e.g., CRM, DAM, analytics tools).
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills; adept at building trusted relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Creative problem‑solver with meticulous attention to detail and a passion for delivering superior customer experiences.
  • Adaptable and resilient in fast‑paced, dynamic environments, capable of multitasking and pivoting quickly when priorities shift.

Preferred Qualifications – Nice‑to‑Have Enhancements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related discipline; a graduate degree (MBA or MS) is strongly preferred.
  • Hands‑on experience with retail channel strategies specific to home improvement or construction sectors.
  • Familiarity with Home Depot’s “Make‑to‑Order” and “Professional” business models, including their merchandising standards and sales processes.
  • Previous experience managing agency relationships and overseeing creative production lifecycles.
  • Exposure to e‑commerce platforms and omnichannel marketing approaches.

Core Skills & Competencies – The DNA of Success

  • Strategic Vision: Ability to see the big picture, translate market insights into actionable strategies, and anticipate future consumer needs.
  • Collaborative Leadership: Skilled at influencing without authority, fostering teamwork, and creating an inclusive environment where ideas thrive.
  • Customer‑Centric Mindset: Deep empathy for end‑users, ensuring every decision enhances the homeowner or professional’s experience.
  • Financial Acumen: Comfortable working with P&L statements, margin analysis, and ROI calculations.
  • Communication Excellence: Storytelling talent that can simplify complex concepts for varied audiences—executives, sales teams, and external partners alike.
  • Technology Fluency: Comfortable navigating digital collaboration tools (e.g., Teams, Slack) and marketing automation platforms.
  • Results Orientation: Data‑driven, goal‑focused, and relentless in pursuit of measurable outcomes.
