About the Role

In this dynamic and challenging role, you will be responsible for engaging and motivating your team during their shifts to maintain the highest levels of safety, quality, attendance, and performance. As an Area Manager, you will also be instrumental in ensuring that our customer expectations are met, guaranteeing that orders are delivered to the right location at the right time. Our operations workflow is divided into three major components: First mile, where products are housed and ready for order; Middle mile, where orders are hauled to your area; and Last mile, where products are delivered to our customers' doors. While our workflows may have slight variations, our vision and dedication to our customers remain constant.

Key Responsibilities and Job Elements

  • Support, mentor, and motivate your hourly workforce to achieve exceptional results
  • Manage safety, quality, productivity, and customer delivery promises to ensure seamless operations
  • Collaborate with various support teams, including Safety, Engineering, Loss Prevention, Quality Assurance, and Human Resources, to develop plans that meet business objectives
  • Lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach in a fast-paced environment
  • Stand/walk for up to 12 hours during shifts, working in an environment where the noise level varies and can be loud
  • Work in an environment subject to variable temperatures and weather conditions, including outside loading departments
  • Continuously climb and descend stairs (applies to sites with stairs)

Essential Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, preferred qualifications include previous experience in a leadership or management role, with a proven track record of driving results and improving performance. Experience working in a customer-facing environment, with a strong understanding of customer expectations and needs, is also highly desirable. Furthermore, knowledge of operations management principles and practices, as well as experience working with diverse teams, would be advantageous.
