The Opportunity: JOB SUMMARY The Hair Category Engagement & Brand Operations Associate Manager is responsible for serving as the education contact for select brand partners and merchants, supporting the creation and curation of content related to the training and development of our Hair category within the organization. The ideal candidate has hair category expertise, is a product junkie, and is passionate about designing best in class learning that inspires and enhances store teams and selling behaviors in a fast-paced and constantly changing retail environment. RESPONSIBILITIES Hair Category Subject Matter Expert (SME): • Serve as subject matter expert (SME) and contribute to the Hair Category point of view to be used in all aspects of content, education materials, tips/techniques, videos, and other digital and facilitated content • Identify program and skill gaps to determine training needed to support client services, hair categories, product differentiation, and priority brands • Create, collaborate on, and support the design of personalized and relevant content to develop hair product and category knowledge that support the client experience • Work in partnership across teams to drive overall Hair strategies and organizational initiatives with a focus on top brands, products, and trends • Seek Field partner feedback to understand the effectiveness of content and make any adjustments as needed to support business objectives • Prioritize brand, product, and category business needs and regularly communicate with stakeholders to collaborate on innovative learning solutions to solve organization needs as related to hair and provide program content updates accordingly • Partner with support teams on instructional design, production, and delivery of innovative curriculums while identifying and communicating any risks to the success of hair education • Manage teams and/or contractors to help with training content creation, as needed • Manage tracking and reporting for all hair brand and product exposures; oversee and maintain Hair team record keeping and all tracking tools • Act as point person for monthly, reoccurring Brand programs Brand Partnership: • Guide an assortment of Hair brand partners and determine the best training levers available to them to support field sales • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with Hair Category brands and merchants • Plan and align with brands on Brand Program participation and work together to create content for programs • Collaborate with brands on the creation and curation of training assets, manage tracking and reporting of all brand produced assets • Communicate with cross functional teams; merchandising, marketing, dotcom, events, social to ensure alignment on key priorities and identified needs. • SME identification and assessment of when and what hair category content can be curated from internal teams, brands, influencers, and other outside sources to support the training strategies and learning objectives • Stay connected to industry trends, philosophies, and training practices within retail, beauty, and social spaces COMPETENCIES/SKILLS • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Exercise respect, initiative, enthusiasm, and flexibility • Strong decision quality with the ability to evaluate multiple impacts in an omnichannel business • Ability to conduct sound research and bring appropriate innovation to the table • Self-starter with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively to achieve outcomes • Able to quickly build strong partnerships and effectively communicate needs and challenges • Experience designing training programs for a variety of audiences and expertise levels • Creative and practical thinker with an attention to detail to ensure accuracy and quality of deliverables • Must be a cross-functional team player, able to lead among peers, SME’s and other cross functional collaborators QUALIFICATIONS • Proven ability to develop and deliver effective educational programming • 3-5 years of experience in retail or beauty education with ability to connect Hair education to the retail environment • Experience and success with client interaction, service and selling skills • Proven ability to manage projects and partner with various levels in the organization • High-level attention to detail and accuracy in execution of work and tasks with ability to manage workload with shifting priorities • Ability to be on-screen talent for presentations and digital trainings as needed • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Office and preferred experience with project management tools (Smartsheet, Box, Project Place etc.) • Ability to travel as required • Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline is preferred or equivalent experience • Cosmetology certificate is preferred The annual base salary range for this position is $80,000.00 - $95,000.00 The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the applicant’s qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job. Individuals employed in this position may also be eligible to earn bonuses.
