Position Overview: Remote Senior Human Resources Operations & Immigration Consultant

In this dynamic, home‑based role you will be the cornerstone of Verizon’s immigration and workforce mobility program. You will partner with senior executives, HR Business Partners, hiring managers, and external immigration vendors to guarantee flawless compliance with U.S. immigration law while delivering an exceptional employee experience for our global talent pool. This is a full‑time, 40‑hour per week position with the flexibility to work from anywhere in the continental United States, complemented by occasional onsite training sessions and strategic meetings.

Core Responsibilities – What You’ll Do Every Day

  • Strategic Program Management: Lead Verizon’s end‑to‑end immigration program, overseeing case intake, strategy formulation, and execution for all employment‑based visas, green cards, and PERM processes.
  • Stakeholder Consultation: Serve as the trusted advisor to HR Business Partners, senior leadership, and hiring managers on complex immigration regulations, policy nuances, and risk mitigation.
  • Vendor Coordination: Manage relationships with external immigration law firms and service providers, ensuring timely case progression, accurate invoicing, and adherence to service‑level agreements.
  • Compliance Assurance: Monitor federal and state immigration statutes, internal policy updates, and audit requirements to guarantee Verizon’s full legal compliance.
  • Documentation & Communication: Draft, review, and distribute immigration‑related letters, forms, and communications to employees and government agencies with precision and professionalism.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Maintain robust tracking systems, generate periodic performance dashboards, and provide actionable insights to senior leadership on program health, cost trends, and improvement opportunities.
  • Issue Resolution: Diagnose and resolve contradictory or ambiguous immigration scenarios, balancing regulatory demands, budget constraints, and employee expectations.
  • Training & Education: Conduct virtual workshops and one‑on‑one coaching sessions for HR teams and business leaders, elevating the organization’s overall immigration literacy.
  • Process Optimization: Identify inefficiencies, propose streamlined workflows, and implement technology solutions that enhance case throughput and employee satisfaction.

Essential Qualifications – What We Require

  • Bachelor’s degree OR a minimum of four years of progressive, relevant professional experience.
  • At least four years of hands‑on experience managing employment‑based immigration cases in a law‑firm or corporate (in‑house) environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise with a broad portfolio of non‑immigrant and immigrant visas, including H‑1B, L‑1, O‑1, EB‑1/2/3, PERM, and related work permits.
  • Strong knowledge of complex U.S. immigration regulations, compliance frameworks, and government adjudication processes.
  • Proven ability to handle a high‑volume caseload while maintaining meticulous attention to detail.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the capacity to translate legal jargon into clear, actionable guidance for non‑legal audiences.
  • Demonstrated organizational mastery—ability to prioritize, track, and meet tight deadlines without direct supervision.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time for on‑site trainings, stakeholder meetings, or vendor engagements.

Preferred Qualifications – What Sets You Apart

  • Advanced degree (e.g., Master’s, JD, LLM) focused on immigration law, public policy, or human resources.
